The Wall in the Woods
The stone walls were boundaries of old farmsteads and keeping sheep and cows from wandering too far. Horses or oxen pulled the heavier stones from nearby fields on sleds. This wall is located on Wood Duck Island.

  1. This is so interesting! I grew up on Norris Lake in Tazewell. I'm fascinated by what is underneath the lake. You have some great pictures! Do you know how to find out if relatives were relocated? I've heard my family members might have been, but don't know for sure. Just wondered if you had a way to find out. Thanks for sharing your research!

  2. Thank you for sharing this pictures. My great great grandparents' families, Gilberts and Meltons owned land around Andersonville/Loy's Cross Roads. I wonder if they are buried in the cemetery and if it could be their cabin that it sticking out of the water.
